He received his J.D. from Emory University School of Law in 1988, earning an American Jurisprudence award in his jurisprudence class and serving as an editor of the Emory Journal of International Dispute Resolution. Bruce received his B.A. (in English and Philosophy) and M.A. (in Philosophy) from the State University of New York at Binghamton. He began his legal career in 1988 as Law Clerk for Judge Dorothy A. Robinson of Cobb County Superior Court. After working as a Shareholder in an Atlanta law firm, Bruce and his wife, Shayna, formed Steinfeld & Steinfeld in 2000. A frequent lecturer on family law-related topics at continuing legal education seminars both locally and nationally, Bruce served as Chair of the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association from 2004-2005. A strong advocate of alternative dispute resolution, Bruce is a registered mediator and is also a member of both the Collaborative Law Institute of Georgia and the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals. In addition to authoring several articles on family law-related topics, he and Shayna are co-authors of The Family Lawyer's Guide to Bankruptcy, a book first published by the Family Law Section of the American Bar Association in 2002 that is now in it's Fourth Edition.
